My first #ARCAugust read!

I can't really say much about it, because the book itself was very bland. The entire time we are dealt suspense around the main character, Kaylee, and whether or not she inherited telekinetic powers from her estranged, psychopathic mom, Crystal, who is currently in jail for killing Kaylee's little brother. There's a lot of buildup and not much spark for the reveals. The characters weren't that interesting - Kaylee more or less annoyed me at times. I found myself just trying to finish this book.


The formatting of this book is a little odd, because the transitions/breaks just didn't make sense at times. Just random jumps from one moment to the next.

What if you ran screaming for Grandma and told her you'd found a dead bird?
....
Chiara was late for English that afternoon...

or even

What if blood gushed?
What if I'd rushed into the slick-floored bathrooms and threw water on my face and wondered, What if I did that?...
What if you could make someone trip and fall by thinking about it?
...
Chiara went straight to the table of new YA releases...

It's so random and sporadic.

The Possible wasn't for me. There wasn't much of a spark in these scenes or from the characters. Hopefully my next #ARCAugust read is much better.
